Thunderstorms are an awesome display of Natures power!
However as you may know, they are not very friendly to Electronics including your computer and related equipment.
Here are some important things to do for maximum protection now that the spring storms have come:
- Make certain that you use a QUALITY surge suppressor that MUST INCLUDE Ethernet Port protection. They are available at a modest cost. Power line surge suppressors are NOT enough to stop nearby strikes from damaging your equipment without the Ethernet Feature! We are not responsible for damage caused by electrical surges.
- If you are able, unplug your computer not only from the wall power but also from the network port.
- Unplug our radio power supply and remove the pigtail assembly from the router if you do not need to use the service during the storm. We very often see surges come down from the network cable and damage your router or network port.
- Once the storm has passed and you are sure that there is no more thunderstorm activity, connect our radio power supply to the line coming in from the wall jack first, wait two minutes and then connect the pigtail cable assembly into the WAN or Internet port on your router. Be sure that you make this connection correctly!
- Connect your PC's network cable to one of the switch-ports that should now be available.
- Power up your computer and you should be back online.
What if we have an issue on one of our towers?
- If we have a tower issue, we will do our best to restore service as soon as it is safe to do so.
- Tower status is sent to several pagers and cell phones. If a tower should fail we will take every possible step to restore service and keep the system status message updated as soon as possible.
AirCanopy is committed to providing the best Internet service available. We monitor our network of tower systems and we handle emergency service issues quickly and safely.
We appreciate the opportunity to serve you and we want to keep you as customers for many years to come. We will do everything possible to see to it that we remain the number one Internet Service Provider in the area and that our customers get the best and most reliable service possible.
