There are several people that I would like to thank for their help in collecting the data that is seen on these pages.
One is my Cuz, Patsy Ann (MAYO) TALLEY. Pat lives in California, but we get together each Sunday over the phone. Pat and I have worked together to collect the data on our CANNON line. We traveled to Maury Co., TN in April of 1995 and were able to determine that our 3GGF was John CANNON. Needless to say, we were well pleased with ourselves! Pat has collected the data on her husband's TALLEY line. A lot of the information that she has collected is included here.
It is unfortunate to the genealogy community that two people that have been very helpful to me in my research are no longer alive. Barry Brown and A. J. Vinson have both passed away. While I never had the pleasure of meeting A. J. face to face, he and I visited over the phone on several occasions to discuss our MANTOOTH roots. I did get to meet Barry on our trips to Maury County. He was most gracious and invited my Wife, Cousin Pat, and myself into his home. I will miss visiting with both of these Gentlemen.
The most informed RICHARDSON family researcher that I have met is James Barrow "Barry" BROWN, Jr. Barry has accumulated a wealth of documented information on several families in the Maury Co., TN area. He descends from Allen RICHARDSON, the second Pastor of the New Ramia Baptist Church. Pat and I have encouraged Barry to publish his data, but so far, we have not been successful. Pat, Barry, and I share the common ancestor William RICHARDSON. It is possible that we share a second common ancestor in the WILLIS line. However, no proof has been forthcoming that shows Jane and Syntha WILLIS are sisters.
Another person that I would like to thank is A. J. VINSON. A. J. was able to tie my maternal grandmother's MANTOOTH line into the research that he had done. As a result, I was able to extend my MANTOOTH line by 3 generations! It's always great when that happens. I have included a lot of A. J.'s work here on the MANTOOTH and MONTEITH lines.
Eugene W. Stark for his well thought out program, GED2HTML. If not for Mr. Stark and his program that creates HTML documents from a GEDCOM listing, I would never have started this project. By using the templates that are included with the product, a person can customize the output of GED2HTML. Mr. Stark's program creates an index showing the URL's for each person in your genealogy database. Unfortunately, his GENDEX server is no longer online and I have not been able to fine a suitable replacement even though there are sever attempts.
Another is John Steed's genealogy program - Brother's Keeper. Without it, I would not have been able to manage the many persons that I have collected. John's program is one of the very best and he continues to improve on it. The thing that I like is that it's shareware. You get a chance to test drive it before you buy it. Other programs don't give you that option! John supports his program through the Internet.
